I just got my first professional job, and it’s the one I wanted. I am soooo excited because I just graduated in August, and I’ve had friends that’ve been graduated for a year and still don’t have anything. I start in a month!!

I was at work this past weekend, and as you know I have to see kids from Make A Wish every now and then. Well as always they always know how to make me cry, but this one kid was such an inspiration.
Her wish was to dance with Mickey during the parade (not the actual parade cuz he’s on a float, but during breakfast). So I went over to her and we were hanging out before it started and she was so happy (she also had a hoodie on because she had no hair and didn’t want anyone to see it). During parade she was all smiles, and her parents were taking pictures, about halfway through parade her dad asked her if she wanted her hoodie pulled down and she said “no I’m scared”. So I squeezed her little hand and we kept walking.
After it was over I had to go on break and I was able to write her a note on the ‘What are you celebrating’ cards. And simply said “Gabriella, Thank you for dancing with me during parade. Your Pal, Mickey Mouse. Her mom was in tears as well as people around the table that knew what was going on, the server, the seater, and all the characters in the breakroom that day. (her cancer was terminal btw).
I was able to see her again during my next set, and she had her hoodie off and looked at me and said “i’m not scared any more Mickey”
Her wish came true, and she reminded me of why I do my job.
